Psychiatrist
She/They
Welcome! My name is Hilary Maia Grubb (she/they). I use she/her and they/them pronouns, and I usually go by Hilary, although I answer to “Doc” as well. I live and work on the unceded ancestral homelands of the Ramaytush Ohlone peoples, the original inhabitants of the San Francisco Peninsula, and contribute monthly Yunakin Land Tax. I am double board certified in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine, and provide consultations, medication management, and psychotherapy to folks with a wide variety of mental health concerns. I have extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, trauma, the bipolar spectrum, psychosis, adult ADHD, addictions, and co-occurring medical and psychiatric illness.
I practice client-centered, trauma-informed, and 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming care, grounded in evidence-based modalities including pharmacology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. My eclectic approach is informed by the principles of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, social justice, harm reduction, Health at Every Size, neurodiversity, and acknowledgement of the complex relationships psychiatry often has with marginalized communities. I welcome all sexual and gender diversities, including transgender, non-binary, and gender expansive folks, as well as folks who are part of polyamorous/ENM, kink, leather, and BDSM communities.
I look forward to hearing from you!Mai

I am an in-network provider for Aetna insurance. If you have a PPO plan, we will provide “Superbills” so that you can submit claims to your insurance company. Keep in mind for completion of paperwork or coordinating care beyond 15 minutes, I charge a pro-rated fee based on the fee you are charged for sessions (the exception is if you are an insurance patient). I don’t do paperwork for people who are not established clients.
We offer a number of lower fee slots, check in with our Client Coordinator through the contact form to learn more
