Working as Licensed Therapist at Authentic Alliance
Authentic Alliance, A Licensed Clinical Social Worker Professional Corporation is currently taking applications for licensed therapists in California.

We are seeking licensed therapists to be a part of an LGBTQIA+ -focused mental health practice where clinicians provide telehealth services and may also offer consultation services to other clinicians. We welcome therapists who have an interest in working with youth as well as those who have an adult focus. The practice is also open to therapists who enjoy working with polyamorous and/or clients in the kink community.  The ideal candidates would build and maintain a full-time caseload of 20+ clients. We are open to employing therapists who are based anywhere in California. We have an in-person site in Oakland, CA. We prefer each of our therapists to run at least one telehealth or in-person therapy or consultation group.  Therapists building towards full-time can choose to be 100% remote or we will consider establishing a hybrid telehealth/in-person practice in their area.

We are especially interested in hiring clinicians who have a specific interest in providing psychotherapy or consultation related to work with gender diverse clients. The practice owner, Lisette Lahana, LCSW (LCS #23663) is a seasoned gender therapist and has 25 years of experience serving sexual minorities, transgender, non binary people and their loved ones.  Our practice has an established administrative structure, intake coordinator, social media contractor, and offers competitive compensation.  Licensed clinicians have a base rate of $25/hour.  They earn a commission of 55% of client fees (minus the $25 base rate).  For example, if you are paid your full fee of $200, you receive $25/hour plus an $85 commission which equals $110 for that session.  We handle the business maintenance so you can focus on supporting your clients. As we are a newly established group practice, you’ll have an important role in building our practice’s supportive team culture and professional reputation.

The hourly position can accommodate up to a full-time position (over 20 hours), but will consider part-time (minimum 15 hours).  We are primarily a self-pay based practice. Therapists can expect that building a self-pay caseload often take time, as well as the licensed therapist’s partnership with the practice’s marketing efforts.

In addition to client hours, therapists should expect to dedicate 2-4 hours each week for documentation, an optional monthly gender-focused consultation group, case management, marketing, meetings or educational trainings (paid at a base rate of $25/hr). Staff will have a role in choosing monthly educational topics, focused on trans and queer mental health, trauma and evidence based care.

For those who have been licensed for at least two years, you may be considered for the additional role of supervisor, where the fee for those hours will be negotiated based on your level of experience and expertise in working with LGBTQIA people.

Authentic Alliance strives to provide services to our diverse community in California. We are establishing a team that reflects the identities of the clients we serve. All interested individuals, but especially those who identify as BIPOC, neurodivergent, disabled, transgender, intersex, and/or non binary, are urged to apply. Bilingual therapists are encouraged to apply.

We are a trauma-informed practice and prefer our clinicians to have expertise in at least one trauma therapy (Eg. EMDR, Brainspotting or Cognitive Processing Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Pronlonged Exposure Therapy,or Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
